Before you can screen mirror an Android to your TV, there are three things you’ll need.

• A Miracast enabled Android device. Many Android 4.2 or newer devices are preinstalled with Miracast technology.
• An open HDMI input on your TV.

Screen Mirror to a Smart TV

Sharing your Android screen to a Miracast compatible smart TV is simple.

1. Make sure both your TV and Android are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
2. Turn on “screen mirroring” from the input menu of your TV.
3. Turn on “screen mirroring” in the “wireless display” menu in your smartphone’s settings app.
4. Select your TV from the list of devices.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete set up. This sometimes requires entering a code displayed on your TV into your smartphone to establish a connection.

Mirror Android to TV Using a Wireless Display Adapter

If your HDTV doesn’t include Internet features, then you can use a wireless display adapter or Miracast adapter for screen mirroring. There are many adapters available for purchase, all of which come with different features and device requirements such as Wi-Fi access and apps to download. Most adapters can be set up through the following steps:

1. Plug your wireless display adapter into the HDMI port of your TV and into a power source, such as a wall outlet or power strip.
2. Turn on screen mirroring from the “Display” menu of your smartphone’s settings app.
3. Select the wireless adapter from the displayed device list and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the set-up process.
