With everything in life going wireless, wouldn’t it be nice to hook up your HDTV without a bunch of a bunch of tangled wires? Well, now you can with wireless HDMI!
Wireless HDMI allows you to set up your TV in virtually any space in your home without worrying about running cables through the walls or ceiling. It works seamlessly with most cable or satellite set-top boxes and other media players, including gaming consoles. Imagine the freedom of setting up your new HDTV in minutes without wires!
How To Set it Up
Wireless HDMI Kits come with two devices: a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter is designed to send data (streaming video, audio, online games) from your media player to the receiver that connects to a TV. The set up process will be essentially the same regardless of whether you are connecting to cable or satellite box, DVRs, Blu-ray players or another media device with an HDMI port.
Here’s how to set up Actiontec’s MyWirelessTV2 wireless HDMI kit:
- The Transmitter and Receiver included in MyWirelessTV2 look nearly identical. They are labeled so you’ll know which is which. We’ll start with the Transmitter. First, power off the source device, which is your set-top box or other media player. Next, connect the Transmitter to your media player using one of the short HDMI cables included in the kit. Next connect the Transmitter to the included power adapter and plug it in. Finally power on the media player, and make sure the “power light” on the Transmitter turns solid green.
- Next, you will set up the Receiver. First, plug the other short HDMI cable into your TV and the other end into the Receiver port that says “Out-to-TV.” Then connect the power adapter to the Receiver and plug it in. Check that the green “power light” on the Receiver turns solid green.
- Turn on your TV and select the input source that matches the HDMI port you used for the Receiver. Wait a couple of minutes for the LINK light on the Receiver to turn SOLID green.
- You also have the option of setting up IR control so that you can use your existing remote control.
That’s it! You are all set up to start streaming video wirelessly to your TV and enjoying 1080p or 4k HD video in just minutes.
