3 Tips on Keeping Your WiFi Fast this Holiday Season

The holidays are quickly approaching, and you have a lot to get ready. There are gifts to buy, food to prep and rooms to clean. Least of all that you want to worry about (but need to) is your WiFi.

When all of your guests (and yourself) can connect to your internet fast and without any interruptions, you won’t regret working in your WiFi onto your holiday checklist one bit.

Here are three quick tips on how to make sure that your WiFi is fast and ready for this holiday season:

1.    Check your router placement

Are you and your guests spending most of your time on the main floor of your home, but your router is upstairs, in the basement or tucked in a back room? This can slow your connection speeds way down.

Try moving the router to a more central location so that everyone is in range when trying to connect to the internet.

2.    Make sure your WiFi network is secure

Make sure that your WiFi network is protected with a strong password and to only give it to the guests that you trust in your home. This will keep you and anyone connected to your internet protected from malware and it will keep your WiFi speeds fast.

A network that is not secure allows outsiders connect to your network without your permission simply because it is open. This can cause major issue, the least of them being a slow connection.

3.    Extend your WiFi signal range

If your router is centrally placed in your home but the connection is still weak in some parts of your home, look into WiFi extenders. These devices connect to your router to extend a strong WiFi signal further throughout your home.

Bonus tip: Manage your WiFi network

Great, one more thing that you have to manage this holiday season? Well, not quite. A WiFi home network management system does the management work for you. Other than making the call and setting it up, you don’t have to lift a finger.
